My Approach

My Approach: Multi-Layered Clinical Intervention

Standard therapy often fails because it attempts to solve complex, multi-dimensional problems with a single, rigid tool. Human experience doesn't fit into neat categories, and neither should your treatment.

I use an integrative framework that allows us to work on several levels of the human system simultaneously. We don't just talk about your history; we address the thoughts in your mind, the patterns in your relationships, and the physical survival responses stored in your nervous system. By combining high-leverage clinical tools, we move beyond "venting" and toward a structural recalibration of how you function.

How the Work Is Structured

Rather than following a pre-set curriculum, our sessions are responsive to what your system needs in the moment. We generally work across three primary layers:

1. Cognitive and Behavioural Strategy

We start by identifying the mental loops—the perfectionism, the self-criticism, and the "worst-case scenario" thinking—that keep you stuck in a state of distress. We use practical, evidence-based tools to disrupt these patterns, giving you immediate relief and a sense of agency in your daily life.

2. Somatic and Nervous System Processing

Trauma and chronic stress are not just memories; they are physiological states. When you feel "stuck," "numb," or "hyper-vigilant," your body is reacting to an old alarm that never turned off. I use targeted methods to help your nervous system process and release these stored survival responses. This allows you to reach a state of calm that "positive thinking" alone cannot achieve.

3. Deep Internal Exploration

Beyond symptoms and strategies lies the "why." We look at the different parts of your personality—the ones that protect you, the ones that judge you, and the ones that carry old wounds. We also explore how your earliest relationships created the blueprint for how you see yourself today. By bringing these unconscious patterns into the light, you gain the freedom to choose your responses rather than simply reacting to your past.

A Professional Partnership

This is not a "one-size-fits-all" process. Some sessions will be highly structured and focused on specific skill-building. Others will be slower and more reflective, allowing for deeper emotional processing.

I am not here to be a passive listener or a cheerleader. I provide the clinical oversight and the roadmap; you provide the willingness to do the work. The goal is not "healing" in a vague sense, but a tangible increase in your capacity for connection, creativity, and presence.

Taking the Next Step

If you are looking for a therapist who is direct, experienced, and equipped with a diverse range of clinical tools, we should talk. We will work at a pace that respects your capacity while maintaining a steady focus on progress.

When you are ready to move past the surface-level symptoms and address the roots of your struggle, I am here to lead that process.

“What I am really saying is that you don’t need to do anything, because if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomena of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all.”
