Integrative Therapy

A Tailored Experience Just for You.

What It Is:

Life can feel heavy. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or persistent patterns that leave you feeling stuck, there’s often more going on beneath the surface than meets the eye. Sometimes, the strategies we’ve learned for coping — pushing through, numbing out, staying busy — simply aren’t enough. Therapy becomes a place to pause, reflect, and begin to understand what’s really happening inside.

That’s where an integrated approach to therapy can make all the difference. Rather than relying on a single method, we draw from a range of evidence-based therapies to support you in a way that’s responsive, flexible, and uniquely tailored to your needs.

This includes tools from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and Psychodynamic Therapy.

The goal isn’t to force your experience into a rigid model — it’s to meet you where you are, and use the most helpful tools available to support meaningful, lasting change.

Why It Works:

Life doesn’t fit into neat categories, and neither should your therapy. Each person brings a unique combination of history, personality, and present-day challenges — and therapy should reflect that complexity with depth and flexibility.

By combining different approaches, we’re able to work on multiple levels: addressing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, healing emotional wounds, building coping skills, and fostering greater self-understanding. This means we’re not just putting out fires — we’re exploring what’s beneath the surface, and creating new possibilities for healing and change.

For example, if you’re feeling stuck in self-criticism or overwhelm, CBT can help you examine those thought patterns and shift them. If it’s hard to be with painful emotions, ACT will help you soften your resistance and move forward in ways that matter to you. If you’re caught in internal conflict or struggling with old wounds, IFS helps you access the parts of yourself that need care and compassion. DBT brings practical tools for navigating intense feelings or relationship struggles.

For trauma that still lives in the body and nervous system, EMDR and DBR provide ways to safely release the emotional charge without needing to relive the pain. And throughout it all, Psychodynamic Therapy gives us a deeper map — helping us understand how your early relationships and experiences might still be shaping the way you feel, think, and relate today.

Together, these approaches form a layered and compassionate framework for real, sustainable healing.

How It Works:

Here’s how some of the core approaches come together to support your growth:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) – Helps you identify and shift unhelpful thoughts that influence how you feel and behave. CBT supports practical, day-to-day change — especially around anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and self-worth.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Offers mindfulness and compassion-based strategies to help you accept what’s hard, stay present, and live according to your values — even when things feel painful or uncertain.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Teaches you how to connect with and understand the different “parts” of yourself — including the ones that hold pain or fear. By building a relationship with these parts from a place of self-leadership, healing becomes possible.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – Offers concrete skills for managing big emotions, tolerating distress, and improving communication in relationships — especially helpful for people who feel emotionally overwhelmed or reactive.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – A trauma-focused method that helps the brain reprocess painful experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional charge. Especially helpful for intrusive memories, shame, and stuck beliefs.

  • Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) – A newer, body-based method that gently works with the nervous system to release pre-verbal or deeply held trauma stored in the brainstem. Healing happens not just through insight, but through the body’s own innate rhythms.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy – Offers a slower, deeper kind of exploration. Together, we look at how early relationships and unconscious emotional patterns might be shaping your current experiences — sometimes in ways that are hard to see. By bringing these patterns into awareness, you gain more choice, freedom, and clarity in how you live today.

A Tailored Experience Just for You

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach — it’s your therapy. Some days we might use practical tools to manage anxiety or build skills. Other days we might explore where those patterns came from, how they’ve been serving you, and what’s ready to shift.

Some sessions might be focused and structured; others might invite deeper reflection or emotional release. Whether we’re processing a painful memory, working through a relationship struggle, or sitting quietly with something hard to name — we’ll move at your pace, using the methods that feel right for you.

The common thread? A deep respect for your inner experience, and a commitment to creating real, sustainable change — not just quick fixes.

“What I am really saying is that you don’t need to do anything, because if you see yourself in the correct way, you are all as much extraordinary phenomena of nature as trees, clouds, the patterns in running water, the flickering of fire, the arrangement of the stars, and the form of a galaxy. You are all just like that, and there is nothing wrong with you at all.”
